I've always thought about doing a aftermarket intake but have no clue what to do? So I don't have to worry about Cali emissions. What's your input on this? Will it even make a difference?

changing the intake won't allow you to avoid emissions. If you are saying you don't have to worry about emissions testing and therefore want to change the intake, the most common thing is the intake/battery swap. Just use an elbow to turn the intake toward the passenger side with a cone where the battery was. Extend battery cables to the other side.

Intake isn't the bottleneck so it won't help much. Just sounds like air sucking noise when you get on it.

I Do Have To Worry About Emissions Just Not Smog.

That's interesting. Looks like it worked well. Did you notice a difference to that from the stock box? Performance or MPG Gain? I'm sure its not much but anything helps.

Yeah I noticed a HP gain, and as for MPG's not really. I can tell a little bit of a difference, but it's not much. The only thing with my setup is that the exhaust tube gets hot and starts sucking in hot air which reduces HP and possibly MPG's I think. But I'm planning on getting some header wrap for it soon!

Moving the intake to the passenger side would reduce the intake tract length quite a ton and avoid it from having to soak up heat from the radiator.
After that, provide an air duct to the intake because there's no hole for the intake on the passenger side. Or just drill one out lol.

Do a true cold air intake, drawing air from outside the engine bay & use a K&N filter!!!
That will make a difference, that & a big bore throttle body.
Of coarse you should have a improved exhaust system also, headers, good flowing muffler & cat!

The first & foremost in engine performance is getting your engine to flow more air, both in & out!! better!!!!!

This is good info. The best way to think of a motor is as an Air Pump. It sucks it in then spits it out...Turbos only compress the air more... Therefore the more air you can get into the motor, the more fun you will have....

Intake runners are long enough as they are.
most of your high revving is more HP based, so shorten the intake pipe to increase throttle response and reduce the length.

I'm pretty sure the motor would be fine with helping itself shove air in the engine.

If I have time, I'll build a chamber to separate it all from the engine bay's heat.

quick question for the EFI guys. Whats a stock throttle body size? I have a massive throttle body from a late model chevy. I am saving it for the next 22RE i hot rod out. Its like a 67 or 72mm.

    ^ Just a run a 7mgte from a 87 to 88 more then you will ever need

and it bolts up have to mod it a tad but nothing to hard at all

-Swap tps and tps turn plate from one to the other or swap clips and use the supra tps instead of the 22re one
    - use some jb weld and block so of the vac port off at the top
    - make throttle cable work

if ya wana know more just look in my build thread

I knew about the supra parts. Just wondering if their would be any use to the part I had. I have a carbed truck anyways lol. My buddy gave me his old throttle body when he put a bigger BBK one on.
