well it's a start anyway, this truck spent it's whole life in a farm never hitting 50mph, there's still straw and a manure shovel in the back along with many many beer cans..

    here's what I started with..

when I got it home it spit oil out the front of the timing cover like the Duke spitting Tobacco..

after opening her up this is what I found..

    nice grooves..

after further inspection, I asked myself, hey self.. where's the guide??

so after pulling the pan there the guide was, guess it's giving tours of the oil pickup tube..

so after an order of a front end kit which should be here monday, I've got her tore down this far..

pretty clean for 203k on her..

so while I wait I decided to do some other work..

dropped her 3" all the way around those are 14" wheel's on there right now..

that's my $400 truck project to date so far, more part's on the way to be fitted..

That is a clean truck for its age and how it was used. Great thread I'll be sure to follow this one.

Why did those trucks come with mech fuel pumps? that does have a mech fuel pump on the head right? I pulled apart a 22r the other day from a 86 and it had the same thing, my 77 I have has electric, weird.

nice deal, my 1st 87 truck had a very clean engine and it had 200,000 miles on it but it was used as a dealership detailing truck in the 90's.

btw if u decided to sell that mini tube bumper let me know

nice, what do they call those again?

btw a suggestion, take the wheels off, clean em up and polish on em, the find some 205/60/14s or 215/60/14s to mount on them or 225/60/14s but those are hard to find

195/60/14s are about $38 through firestone right now. Have fun getting a 215/60/14 or wider, they have gotten spendy. Hence why I am getting 16s again if I have to spend much money. 14s are for rollin on a low buck. That, and craigslist :D

well hell, 195/60/14s, clean up wheels, crank torsons and get some rear blocks:waytogo:

though 205/60/14s would look better and fill the gap moreso, unless u drop really low
