    Hi there!
New to the forums, but been in love with my toyota truck for many years now.

So I bought this thing a few years ago with pretty much the same setup as it's running now. That is, a 22R with a Weber carb (38?).
Though I've done plenty to get it up and running over the years, having had the alternator, starter, and many other parts fixed or replaced - even a partial engine rebuild. But it's never been tuned just right.
The result of this is that the plugs foul up, and specifically the 3rd cylinder usually doesn't fire at all anymore.
Now, it's running super rough. I've tried adjusting the carb but have probably just made it worse. Even if I adjust it to idle smooth, driving it is like riding a dying bull.
    I'm at my wits end.

I live in Portland, Oregon. Can anyone suggest a good mechanic that knows this configuration that can get it running smooth again? Are you that mechanic and do you want to come take a look and make a few bucks?

    Please let me know!

I've been trying to work on this truck myself, but I'm afraid that it's to the point that a pro just needs to get in on it or else I'll just make it worse.

At the very lest the carb needs adjusting. It may need some hoses and distributor timing adjustment, etc... I just don't know anymore.

    Thanks in advance,
    - Jesi

if it is a 38 get rid of it! Mine had one too, fouled the plugs and wouldnt pass emissions, its too much carb unless you have a built engine, get a 32/36 and be much happier.

This is a 38, notice the gears that open both barrels at once.
