Anyone have a picture or two of the conversion brackets used for installing a 89+ bumper on our trucks? Trying to get an idea of what some have done before I make my own hopefully.
Fbimini.com used to sell em. Theyre long gone now. Pretty sure someone here has done it, itl probably be a good idea to have brackets for both bumpers at hand. When i had my 89 i was able to mod the factory brackets by just cutting and flipping the mounting point from the middle to the outside(or the other way around) not sure what the earlier brackets look like
KBS sells them now. I'm just looking to save $100 since I have a welder. I also have my original brackets, and the new bumper brackets.
Support a forum vendor! Find a way to get a visual of how the bumper will mount. Attach the factory brackets to the frame and hold the bumper up to it and see what needs to happen.
These are the brackets that FBI sold & I had to modify them a little! The bumper/ valvance is 92-95 4-Runner & my truck is a 88 Extra Cab
Nice , I just cut the stock mounts and used 3/16 steel plate and welded them together, your looks nicer
....ummmm..... not really sure what ur trying to do but .... i swapped my stock bumper (2wd pickup) to a 4runner bumper (early 90's model) . all i needed was the original 4runner bumper brackets and it bolts right up. sourced them from a local JY. about $10-20 only fab work was the wiring for the lights. hope this helps.
