iv been looking for a 89-95 ext cab for months now, i found out most of trucks are very beated up , and im still not finding one with best price and condition

i came across with a few trucks ok condition 200k+ for over $2500

couple trucks good condition with 130k for $3000+

iv seen few truck 100k miles for 4 G + , im very suprise they were sold, it is ridiculous, you can buy a 97 m3 in good condition for 4500

is it really that hard to find a clean ext cab for under 2800 with low miles?

i bought my 98 tacoma sr5 2rz ext cab 125k with a dent on side of bed for 4000 smogged , 3 lift new shocks all around ,new 31" tires and 15x8 rims, stereo , no leak no problem

not hating on minis , they are double of blue book price, but there is no way these truck worth that much , compare how cheap rangers and s10s are .

    :(

the 89-94 2wd trucks here sell fast as hell if they are under 3k usally they have 150,000-300,000 miles on em

the 84-88 trucks are going for 1500-2500, im suprized my 1st 87 cost me 50 dollars, yes thats right 50 dollars, and my 2nd (the one i have in my sig) cost me 800, i liked my 1st one better so far though.

    oh and my turbo 86.5 4runner i had cost me 400 w/ a 30,000 rebuilt 22rte. Its currently going in my 85 celica gt-s

They pull a higher dollar because people will pay it. Its stupid but its true. I sold a 92 std cab with 240k and dents all over with the rods knocking for $2000. I didn't even pay that much for it. Just keep looking, and travel a bit out of the busy areas. Maybe leave notes on peoples trucks in parking lots and driveways offering like $2500 if they wanna sell it. Maybe they just didn't think anybody would pay that so they haven't listed it. Good luck.

    thats a fair deal

i have to agree with you , but the thing is no matter how reliable a 22re is you have to maintain it, some people just buy a truck and think he doesnt have to change the oil 7k+ , as a result most pickups for sale have a really really dirty valve train + oil leak dont matter mileage, iv been looked 7-8 low-high miles trucks already, none of them has a clean engine

well i dont need a truck right the way , i gusse i will take my time

im trying to buy this one, i email the guy like 20 times, no response

And just remember that it doesn't matter what "blue book" is, ultimately the buyers set the price. KBB is only a guide. It took me three months to find the exact truck that you are looking for. I ended up buying a dented up, no frills model with 175k on it that was listed for $3500.

The thing is though, if you have cash, like I did, it talks. I got mine for $2400.
Best deal I could find in the state.

    so far , the problems

needs smog, looks dirty inside oil cap, window dont roll up , one is off sitting in the bed, rear view mirror is broke, no key to the wheel lock lug, exhuast leak causing idle rough, overheat a lil( thinking is the thermostat coolant dont flow too good when i open the rad cap) , bench seat is ****ed up, stereo is missing got wires all over the cab

power is good , shifts smooth , 38 miles coming home gas needle just moved a lil bit even with 235 tires

lol, yeah shes a lil beat , she just needs some love, when i see this truck , i really see potential, plus its clean title straight frame

theres a story when i bought it, the guy posted it for 1300 with his phone numb and address at 12pm ,i called around 12:30 and got there at 1pm, it was sold to a bodyman who lives 10mins away from him, by the time i get there, they were about to do the transaction, but owner wasnt paid yet, i got lil mad ,i told him that aint right since i called earlier he shouldve call me , so i said imma offer more, they all heard it they think they can just make a profit like this , so they let me inspected it, while he was talking to the bodyman, me n my dad was checking the truck out, another guy came wanted to buy it and 4 other guys call the owner , i didnt even get to drive it, they think i wasnt gonna buy it so 15mins after they about to take off, i said i will take it for 1500, so they all agree, after i paid the owner, my dad saw he gave 200 to the bodyman, they took off to wherever they was going, then me and my dad got back to pickup the truck , we drove it a lil bit around the city to get gas, it runs good, better than most trucks i see that were asking for 3000, i know it sucks that i could get it for 1300 , but i was like what the hell, im done looking around, so i thought imma end up with this one

later on we insured it will make it home, so we hit the road, when we were like 7 miles to home it over heated , so we got off freeway and let it chill , we found out radiator is not full, so i borrowed some water , and let it chilled more, once we started it water in the rad is not flowing as fast as normal, so my dad who used to be a mechanic figured it might be the thermosat not opening completely, then we hit the road again , dropped the truck at home went straight to dmv got it transferd , its now none operational

im thinking to fix whatever problem it has now, get the smog, then move on to exterior

fix the dents n dings, then paint it flat black, get 89-91 4wd grill get some nice rims and tires, hid kit, i have a old skool nardi wood steering wheel colecting dust imma throw it on there, change all the bushings, maybe lower possibly not, i will be asking a lot of questions later when i start working on it

yup, go for the engine and **** first. get it running nice and clean and then do the exterior later haha.

the wheels, i say you can make your truck look good with them for a while.

anyway, welcome to the xcab club

    hooray!!

im so damn happy , finally got it , i never had any hard time finding the other cars that i had before:D

i just took the door panels and windows off, it needs new regulators , also found out the down pipe is cracked , imma take it off tomorrow to get it welded or get a used one at junk yard

i like the rims but they are steel i figure they are hella heavy, i will let it be for now , like you said main thing is get it runing clean and smooth, i think i will do the shifter bushing even there is not much play and shifts good already, i want everything to be perfect
