After several years, and a lot of growing up, I am back. I now have an 87 stnd cab to play around with. Originally purchased new by my step-dad's father, and then handed down to my step-dad. I asked to borrow it to drive while I sell my 4runner and find another one, he ended up just telling me to keep it, just never sell it. It needs some work, apparently someone side swiped it while parked on the street, and it needs a fender and headlight. Hardly ever driven, and currently has a seized brake caliper. Hopefully I can get it hauled down to my house in the next couple weeks and really see what it needs. Pictures to come soon. Long term goal is to have it bagged, as I have always wanted a bagged Yota. I hope to get a lot of good information from everyone, as I have no idea who the go to companies for parts are nowadays. It used to be Cando, and fbirides, etc.
Drove it home today. Had to replace the right front caliper due to being seized, and both front hoses due to the rubber being cracked and close to bursting. Step-dad had some work done to it since I have moved away, and I didn't realize she purred like a kitten again. Trans is another issue. Currently looking for 5spd swap parts. Current to do list: 4wd fenders, 92-95 4Runner bumper and valance, and either the 87-88 4wd grille or 92-95 2wd grille. Replace LSPV with manual valve, dual diaphragm booster,v6 calipers, other brake maintenance. Steering play needs to be resolved, probably a few worn parts. Locate door window seals and weatherstripping 5spd swap Seat repair or bucket seat install 18" wheels Then hopefully put her on air.
