My truck runs fine at idle as soon as the pedal goes down it runs rough like it's running out of gas. It also has a bad sulfur smell. Please tell me that's what it is. I checked everything else elec.

Well, unbolt the cat and rear half of the exhaust and see if it smoothes out. simple test.

 

yea just unbolt it. if it does the same crap then you have another issue

 

And let us know for sure if that was it. I may have a similar issue

Sometimes my truck's exhaust smells quite foul. But I was under the impression that was normal for the cat to make it smell that way, at least so I had been told. Correct or no?

 

sometimes....... it really depends on the trucks condition. some smell like turd, some dont.... even ones with new cats.... these trucks run rich normally so depending on how rich the truck runs as well as how well the cat is working to convert those gases into less harmful ones depends on how different the smell may be.

but me......... i dont worry about funny smells or cats goin bad since i dont run that stuff

Has your cat ever been replaced? If not I would get a new one. Wouldnt hurt the truck to get a new cat. Thats what I did atleast.
