Hi Im new here, please be nice... :)
My old lux is starting to look a bit,... well old so I thought I would give her a polish rat rod style.
The paint has gone all chalky every were except the hood which looks like its been repainted at some stage, and it has large bits of paint coming off crazy cracks rust coming through... you get the idea. Screen Shot 2018-06-23 at 12.16.21 pm.png Screen Shot 2018-06-23 at 12.15.46 pm.png
So I started by feathering back any stone chips and large rust spot with a sander and 180 grit then 320 grit.
I then wet sanded the hood and front fenders with 800 grit then 1200 grit.
Next I got out the buff and coarse cutting compound and polished the hell out of it. Screen Shot 2018-06-23 at 12.16.55 pm.png
You can see the paint on the fenders was so thin it rubbed through pretty easy, the hood though the paint was in much better condition and doesn't really match the rest of the Lux. Screen Shot 2018-06-23 at 12.17.15 pm.png
finally gave it a good coat of wax, and it doesn't look to bad. Screen Shot 2018-06-23 at 12.18.08 pm.png

Ive managed to screw up the photos again damn it!
