on a pickup with torsion springs, after you crank the torsions and do a bj flip is there anyway to get it lower than that? i have a 79 long bed and i want the absolute lowest static drop i can get and still drive it lol
alright sweet... i read on here that they dont make drop spindles for rigs this early and that you have to change out the control arms to a later model yota which is fairly involved swap... so my question is will drop spindles off of a later model truck fit without their control arms or is it totally different?
i would ask somone with your year cause i'm not sure, but my 87 toyota has drop spindles that supposely only fit 89-94 toyota pickups but they fit on mines. and people use 89-94 lower control arms on 84-88. not too sure on the 76-83.
thanks for the info bro.. from what i have read the upper and lower control arms have to be swapped off of a 84-88 yota and something(i forget what) has to be done to the torsion bar to get them to work as well as a ton of shimming the uppers for alignment ish... but o well lol we will see when it comes down to it what i wanna do ... thanks again
You could buy drop arms for 84-95 and swap to 84-95 hubs (and dropped spindle). You should only need to drill a new hole in the arm to work with the stock torsion.
I swapped a whole 84+ suspension into my 82. I am able to use drop arms and drop spindles off of a 84+ and do a BJ flip Look into my build thread "the Raffaelli's Yota" in the 76-83 build section. Heres a pic with dropped spindles, loose torsion bars and big arse tires.. A set of drop arms would put it on the ground, if your wheels werent that big!
