first car was a 78 Celica St. stupid me sold it to buy a 71 super beetle. down the road i bought a 81 Celica St. even later down the road i bought my 98 tacoma, then got my wife a 05 Scion tC (scions do count as toyotas right?) traded that for her 06 Scion xB, totaled my tacoma and bought my current 06 Tundra. and i am about to pick up my 7th toyota, a 88 std cab mini. i have probably owned about 50 cars between me and my wife. the 2 i miss the most are my 78 Celica and my 69 lincoln conti 4 door with factory rear suicides, that car was a tank.
I mainly owned VW's through the 1970's and early 1980's. My first Toyota was a 1985 2WD XtraCab SR5. I sold it in 1988 when I moved to Sweden. Immediately upon arriving back in the States (to live / work) in 1993 I got a 1993 2WD V6 XtraCab (the Gray Ghost). It served me faithfully until it was finally totaled (4th wreck) in 2005. In the mean time I'd gotten a 2004 S-Runner.
Why do you people jump from car to car so much? An 05 tC to a gay 06 xB? I don't know what would convince someone to trade the tC for a xB except being nuts! lol Dad has owned 5 toyotas since about 85. Bought one new in 85 for 4 grand. Got rid of it for another toyota sometime, then got rid of that one for a fullsize chevy around '93. Got rid of that and bought a 90 4x4 3vze ext. cab. Sold that in 01 or 02 for his 99 Z71 Silverado, then bought his 87 2wd a couple months later for 1250. In november 04 we purchased my 92 with 99,902 miles, for 1500. He always mentions how he would never sell his 87. Said it's the best and most dependable truck he has owned. He drives his 87 way more then his 99 Z71. He's put probably 9k miles on his Z71 since we bought it like 4 years ago. Goes to show how much he loves his 87!
well after taking a week long vacation (12 hour drive 1 way) with 2 kids the tC was just a lil bit too cramped. basically that meant no other choice but to trade. that and the fact the tC was an auto and the xB is a stick. trust me when you have kids you will learn to sacrifice the cool toys for the practical ones. i really liked the tC and almost bought another one but got the tundra instead.

84 rock crawler pickup 93 part truck 99 bagged truck 06 scion Tc and still have them all! The only non toyota things i have owned have been motorcycles, only cuz toyota dosent make motorcycles.
if hez talking about a 4x4 only 85 and older were straight axel up front, although many offroaders have retro fitted them on to new toyotas.
tony is prob referring to a 4wd with a solid front axle instead of the indepen. like they all have now.. im on my 5th toyota.... only owned 1 non-toyota in the last 14 yrs in order 85 cressida sedan 79 mercedes 280 se 87 toyota 2wd x-cab 01 tacoma xcab (cmon, the bagged silver bullet) 99 tacoma reg cab 2wd 93 hilux 2wd wife has owned a 02 corolla but now has an 04 solara... yeah we are toyota people
Just the one 93 toyota pickup. My dad bought it brand spanking new with under 10 miles right off the delivery truck from the factory. It was set to be a deluxe but he bought it before the dealer was able to install a stereo, clock, passenger side mirror, etc. so I have a deluxe but without any comforts except carpet. It was given to me 100% stock in 1999 and was my daily driver till last year when I bought my 2000 nissan sentra with the sweet sr20de. I might sell the nissan this summer for a celica all-trac but my next toyota will likely be a 97 supra TT or a turbo MR2; when I graduate from college thats my gift to me . The 93 I plan on keeping my whole life though and passing it on to my future kids.........when I die, until then they won't be allowed to touch it.
the 97's TT's are overrated, so what if it was the last production year. everything was made an option that you could get as standard equipment in lets say a 93 or 94. my uncle has a 94 TT 6-speed with under 50,000 miles on it that he is thinking of selling. not meaning to be a dick on this post, sorry if it comes off that way, but i did hella research with my uncle when he bought his TT about 7 years ago
I want a 97 because its the last production year, and the aniv edition. The Supra is my favorite car followed closely by the MR2 so if I'm going to buy one as my 3rd vehicle I want it to be special. Your not dick by the way lol but I too have researched the hell out of Supra's. I saw a legitimate 97 TT targa top in Royal Sapphire Blue with 9,870 original miles go on ebay a few months ago that car was awesome. Then again I might just buy an MR2 turbo to play with and another 93 yota pickup and swap a supra TT drive train and irs into it.
my parents had an 82' Celica, 84' Tercel, 85' Hilux Pickup... Celica died in 98; got a 98 Corolla... the 85' became mine when I started driving; sold it and now I have an 04 Tacoma
