So the build plan for the truck is to keep everything as original as possible, but modified I.e no engine swaps etc, cause she's already been around the clock 4 or 5 times on the original running gear (motor rebuilt once!) And still runs like a dream! Why change what's already bulletproof right?

I'm thinking the old 3Y is due for a rebuild (dropped a lifter) but I'd rather put some different parts back in to wake her up a bit, here's what I've got planned so far:

Tablet froze up so had to post what I'd written so far.

Also its a budget build I.e recycled/secondhand parts are preferential to new custom bits.

-4Y head (ports 7mm taller) skimmed for more compression, and mildly port polished

-dual carbed with a second 3Y Carb (or whatever I can find)

-extractors and free flow exhaust (Resonator+buddy club muffler)

-solid lifter setup from a K series toyo motor (I'm told the valvetrain is interchangeable, but haven't been able to confirm)

-potentially a performance cam (if I can do it for under $200nzd)

-baffled sump for peace of mind

-potentially a hydrogen electrolysis setup for fuel efficiency and a bit extra horsepower!

Well, those are my thoughts anyway. I'm no performance engineer, just an intelligent, self taught hobby mechanic

I'm hoping these mods should see me making power till 7000rpm or so, but you guys will put me right if I'm wrong eh?
