I have a 71 Hilux with the torsion bar style hood support. Does anyone know how to access these bars or how to remove the cowl on these??? I've had some problems with these, and today when I shut the hood there was a lot of tension, and then the hood snapped shut. Now I can only open it about 4 inches. I hope someone can help, this sucks.
wow lol picture whore lol just kidding to get the cowl off you have to have the hood up if you have some small hands you could prob get somone to hold the hood open while you unbolt it thats the only way your going to be able to access the hinges.
I got the hood off, but I still don't see how to get the cowl off. I've figured out what happend... but i'm not sure how to fix it. I think you have to take the windsheild out to get the cowl off... and thats at the very least. Maybe I should do a shock conversion and cut the torsion bars out...
