There now maybe you guys will actually read the words he typed on the screen for you to read and comprehend them. :nana:

You'll probably want to get a couple of them a bit longer than you'll need so you can stagger their height so they fit squarely on your hood. I've been thinking of doing this to my 78 lately but haven't taken the time to do it yet.

For mine i had a longer bolt with two sets of nuts. One to control height and one for security (to tighten it, you dont want your hood flipping up).

Don't make something so simple, too hard.

Yeah when i think hood spacers i think the two bolts on either side of the front of the hood that hold the front of the hood flush with the fenders when the hood is down. And they usually have a piece of rubber over them. Nobody has mentioned any rubber caps or anything.

Hahaha i guess there are certain circumstances where an extra half inch of lift is needed right? Maybe the motor is sitting too high? Idk i personally won't be doing this to mine i would rather have my hood line flush with my fenders. But i am me and other people may like it right? Now i know what hood spacers are though. And yes that toyota does look pretty tasty but once again i would rather the hood fit right :)

Yea and they buy wheels way too wide for the tires they want to run so they end up looking retarded too. Go figure, form over function strikes again.

Ive done this mod before to my miata when I raced. It is basically for looks if using anything less than a 2" lift and crusing in town it doesnt do anything. My good friend who is an aeronautical engineer did same thing to his car and put it in the wind tunnel and at 45mph absolutely no wind or pressure was going into engine bay. We lifted rear more as if it was a cowl hood I think overall 3.5" and at 60mph was reading a gust, at 4.5" lift the meter read 3.85 bars so if I remember my math correctly it was like blowing air into your engine compartment at 30psi which would have a cooling effect. To each his own! Like for me I totally dig hood pins when everyone else thinks its dumb however Im sure ive had more hood latches fail in high speed scenarios than most of you. Hood to windshield damage sucks haha
