Hey guys i think i finally came across some of the 5 spoke highlander wheels that ive been searching for... question is, i plan on lowering and starting to modify the suspension, starting with a static drop, including spindles, turned torsions, drop blocks, and possibly drop shocks as well... ideally id like to barely tuck tire, i know ill be needing the 4wd or runner fenders up front for clearance, but since im not close to bagging or anything soon, would clearance be an issue when turning or anything else, i know 18s seems to be the go to... but i love the rims, and i think it would make for a nice clean look... any help is appreciated... i plan on matching the tire size to stock diameter so i dont mess with my speedometer readings as well... i tried searching for 19" rims/wheels... didnt pull anything up for me
Well, I will try and help, but i haven't much experience. I can't say i know anything about rubbing or whatnot. But i myself did have my eye on these wheels for a while, they just look sexy as hell, but i couldn't find any, so i found some Lexus RX350 rims on craigslist and picked them up thursday. About the tired though, i was doing some reading, and i think it might be close to impossible to find tires flat enough to match the cirumfrence of your stockers. Let alone the price of those bad boys! I think the offset on those was a mid thirties, but i would probably get 4by fenders on when i lower it, just to be safe. Of course, this is pure speculation. Good luck on your readings, i haven't seen it done yet, post some pics when you get them though.
those rims would look pretty legit... especially if you run the center caps anyway, with 19's i'm not sure how close you can get the tires to match the height of the stockies but i'm pretty sure you can find something close to it. it might make your pocket a lil lighter though my truck is dropped around 4" or so and my tires rub when i turn full lock and when i hit some dips in the road... and i'm only running 14" rims with 195/60R14's so if this gives you a clue, i can guarentee 19's will rub. i think the best way would be to cut out the fenderwells (weld in some motorcycle fenders or something) and 4x4 fenders. oh and i almost forgot, its a good idea to check the offset too... hope you can pull off those wheels though man!
Yota4life, i got the five spoke RX 350 rims. http://i.imgur.com/nFyuY.jpg ^These are them in the bed of my truck, btw, wanna buy some R18 Michelins that will go on a highlander? I can't wait for these bad boys, I still gotta get the hubs bored, but by then i think i might be done with my computer payments so i think im gonna put them on the truck and drop the truck at the same time.
I finally found this useful little link for you, it should give you some perspective as to how the tires will work out highness wise on your truck. Tire Size Calculator
