I have 238,000 mi. on my trk. Does anyone use 20w 50 HM oil? Do you think it's too thick?

Are you burning oil or anything? HM oil is usually used for engines that have worn out components are are starting to consume oil. If you are not burning oil I would just run the 10w30 conventional.

The higher weight oil won't help stop the leaks, you'll either need to fix them or live with them.

For higher mileage engines, I use a good full synthetic.

I'm at 169k and I use 10-30w Rotella Diesel oil strictly, I think really its the only diesel grade oil for that weight.. But anyways the lead used in diesel oil is suppossibly beneficial for all the components and is really good for the crank bearings..

yep! I thought thicker oil mite help. I'm going to try some gasket sealer and if that does'nt work I'll just deal with the leaks, too expensive to replace the gasket right now. thanks you guys.
