There's a few of us running none projected hid,s I for one have had no problems with blinding people I have mine aimed down a tad more than normal to control some of the scattered light output but overall I'm pleased with them just buy a quality hid kit a 55 watt kit at that

I didn't state that I am not running projector housings !
Was looking @ some that have a LED side light inside @ the sides, but after talking with the supplier & was told the LED's change the light pattern, I decided to stay with what I have .
Seeing whats in front of you see my main concern, & having a lighting system that you can't out drive!

Any tips on the cheapest e-code headlights?

    E-bay maybe?

Seems like they have a decent cutoff line for being non-projector housings....

I'm running a clear headlight housing w/5k hid's and haven't had any problems with blinding people....But like Scrub88, mine are aimed down more than i want them.

Without projectors i have a lot of scattered light and hot/cold spots. But 100x better than the stock yellow:)

the projectors don't look too bad. i've had a pair of h4 conversions with the fake projector thing in it. it looked kinda weird but if you retro fit like he did then its worth it.

For the guys not running projectors on the ToyotaNation forum, they ran E-Codes with HID's (not necessary) and have received great light output :)

retro fitting some projectors should help clean the output up. that way, you wont have all that scattered light.

That's about the norm ya gotta rember this bulb technology was designed for a projector lens so like byronics said a retro will get you there for the time being try adjusting your light that last pic looks like you could raise it a few

funny par is I adjust them and well not so great resalts

these's are the high/low kit, so the bulb moves.
Far as I know they can not be used in a projector with a cut off lens. that function that control the bulb pop in and out can not control the shutter far as I know
