Hey everyone, new to toyto mini trucks. I have a 1983 toyota hilux. This truck has a pretty amazing story. My mother purchased her from her boyfriends parents. The boyfriends parents inherited it from the original owner the moms brother. They sold it to us for $400 about 8 years ago. Then I purchaed it from my mom. When we first got the truck it had just under 100k with a rather ugle camper shell. Smelled pretty bad to. My mom's boyfriends parents only used it for dump runs. I ditched the camper shell and clead her up. I used it to commute to work since at the time all I had was a 1979 pontiac trans am. Needless to say it sucked gas up like no tomorrow. Then after having it for about 6 months my good friend called and was going through really rough times. He had a brand new baby and money was super tight with no way to get to work. So I gave him the truck to get back on his feet. 7 years later he calls me up and asks if I want the truck back. So of course I say yes and betty is mine once again. I have only had her back for 2 months now but want to do some great things to her. Want to build her into a canyon carving and auto cross machine. Think it be fun and haven't really seen anyone do such a thing with one yet.

 

She's a beauty with an awesome story. You've come to a great group here. I think you'll find what you're looking for.

There's a couple people who've autocrossed their yotas here, but it's not the norm. Lots you can do with her.
