    I figured it was about time to jump on the forum here... I've been the proud owner of my '88 standard cab 4x4 since 2010. Purchased in Novato for $2.5k with 163k miles, currently sitting at 264k. Had the original motor rebuilt in 2016, and new gears in the rear differential in 2018, the only things I outsourced. Everything else I've done myself... Lots of maintenance, suspension rebuilds, etc and upgrades. I'd drive this truck to the moon without hesitation, if there was a road and gas stations along the way.

    I kept it OEM, figuring the engineers knew what they were doing :)
