    ive seen this done my buddy did his focus in a battleship gray. turned out decent, could easily mistake it for a good paintjob.

    looks better than the **** maaco puts out.

    Wow... that sounds like a great idea. I might just try that. Of course the painting part isn't the part I suck at, it's the body filler part.... :doah:

    Its all about prep and sanding inbetween
    otherwise keep it thin so it lays out and lots of patience as it goes on ... many times 8-15 coats

    Well, I sprayed my frame with Rustoleum. And I've touched it up with a brush, blends in very well.

    Not sure about longevity in sunlight though.

    I can attest to how well Rustoleum stands up. I owned a 85 4x4 way back when. I'm not sure if many of you remember the factory checker plate bumpers these trucks came with. Well my was full of surface rust and from what I heard it was very common for these bumpers a year out of the factory. I wirewheeled it and painted with Tremclad and a brush and it lasted for years. I ended up selling the truck before rust started showing on it again. I'm pretty sure Rustoleum and Tremclad are pretty close to the same product. Great products I might add!
