So after a lot of researching I've decided to do an air shock setup. I never wanted to do airbags and I don't wanna go to low. 2 to 3 inches is good enough for me but I need to be able to haul my bike and stuff I need for some repairs around my house. Plus it's like I'm in the middle of both worlds. But I need some help. Plus my factory shocks r shot.

I found some Gabriel sky jackers or whatever's for 65 a Pair. But those are just for the rear so what do I need to run up front? Also am I correct in assuming that even tho 85 is listed I can use them on my 84? And lastly can I still run 3inch blocks in the rear and torsion adjusted on the front with this setup? Im guessing that I will get more then the 2 or 3 in drop I want but long as it adjustable it's cool.

I don't wanna do any frame mods like notches or nothing that isn't reversible bc if I should ever not want it anymore I'm giving it to my uncle and he's not into all that.

Oh yea I plan on running either 16 or 17 in Lexus is350 rims probably just on factory tires.

Sorry for the novel. And thanks for the help.

All you need is the air shock in the rear if you want to load stuff.

Can I run airs in the front? And if i just do rears can I just use factory replacements up front?

I am trying to get a similar setup to what beefedup taco did on a tacoma just with out a cnotch. I guess I should just study up on what he did

The setup that Beefed did to that Tacoma is exactly what I did to my Tacoma. Im at a 6/9 static drop and I carry loads all the time. Im running the monroes 804from a 1984 Jetta.:waytogo:

Thanks yank. I think I got it figured out.

I don't wanna do anything too low right wanna just get to around 3 inches and see from there. Here's my plans and tell me it's right or what not.

Gabriel Hi Jackers in the back with 3 inch blocks

Kyb or nitro shocks in the front with 2 or 3 inch blocks or just torsion adjust
just a 4 gallon tank and a compressor that can attach to my frame

Yea bit in the front might wanna consider a drop spindles for your 2 inch drop combined with a lowering shock .loosing your torsions things just get sloppy you'll have a firm and supported front end .with the proper setup

I've got a quick question...Was going to start a new topic, but i'll post here.

I've got 3" blocks in the rear and just put on some gabriel Hi-jackers.... When i tried to air them up, the system wouldn't pressurize and i could hear one of the shocks venting the air i was putting in....

I was like ****! I got a bad shock! So, i took it off and it was fairly easy to compress and extend it like a normal shock, but after turning it a few times randomly, it became noticeably stiff and when installed, it aired right up along with the other one.

The instructions are worthless!!! WTH did i do? Do the airbags inside need to be positioned or something before they can become inflatable?

Also, I've heard guys say they run them with 0 psi....But with no pressure, it rides dangerously bouncy, like a ricer on cut springs and ****ty shocks(you know the bounce, lol). Anywhere from 5 psi to the recommended minimum of 25psi it feels super stiff, but the bounciness goes away....

I checked mine for leaks once i got them to air up and nothing, but 3 days later they are empty:( It doesn't help when that ****ty plastic valve stem doesn't want to take air from your typical air fitting or even a bicycle pump!

probably had a leak where the airline goes into the shock
