alright, im not at all the best at puttin an engine together but i can figure out how stuff goes back together, anyways, i started puttin my engine back together friday starting with the timing chain, which was a bitch to get it all back together, but now i gotta take it back apart because i forgot to align it properly because i was zoned in on gettin the sprocket on the head and the cover to go back on so if someone would tell me or show how to align it (its a single timing chain) thats would be awesome, also if someone could post a pic of a 22r carbureted engine on the left, front and right side, that would help too
did you take the cam of the mechanical fuel pump off, cause thats the only way i know of to mis aglign the timing chain... is that what you are talking about or do you mean set the cam and crank right on the chain
yea, uhm i get confused, sorry to steal the thread but i'm sure this will help... i'm mechanically inclined, but when it comes to circle stuff and timing, i get hella confused... OP#1 is probably like me.... i have a feeling that once you turn the cam or crank 1 full rev and put them both back on the timing marks, the timing is f*cked.... but then again, i'm thinking that it won't matter how many times you spin it over as long as the timing marks are aligned?... that's what gets me... blah! hope you guys understand what i mean by this... if not, i'll try to and thoroughly explain tomorrow...
that kind of helps, not sure how the placement of the chain on the sprockets does anything..i know the sprockets have to be insync with each other..thats what i need to know..is there notches that line up or what??
