help me identify this trans....

    ok so I put my 5 speed for sale on craigslist. this person interested is swearing up and down i have an r151, when I thought I had a w58.. can someone tell me which one I have !?!?!? Thanks ! sorry these are my only pics.

    here is an r154 from a mk3 supra

    from what i've read there are 2 different r154's. one with an aluminum section near the rear, and one with a steel section (dark part in these pics). the tail end of yours is longer then the pics i posted as well as the webbing

    the bell housing in the pics i posted are for a 7m motor so i wouldn't use that as a reference

    thanks, and I changed my first post. I thought he was telling me I had an r154, I misread his text that said r151.. Im sure its not that though because that would be a 4wd trans.

    javi from the pics i've seen all the r series trans are short in the area in front of the shifter whole and the w series are longer. i did find this pic that is a r151 for a 2wd.

    One dead give away is the R trannies all have steel sandwich plates. Its also visually beefier! They came in the factory turbo 2wd's and the 1 ton dually V6 flatbeds... He see's the Turbo, thats probably why he thinks its an R series trans... Sell it to him, coz they go for 5 bills+! :ROFL:

    so which do I really have then lol. Hes putting it behind a 1uz in a lexus.

    I recall the shifter you had when I went down there, so from what I remember its a W58...
