How do i get the heater controls out of my '84?

My fan doesnt turn on the lowest setting, the only one i really want to use! and if i can get it out of the dash i think i can figure out whats wrong with it

 

does it only work on the hi setting?

if its like the 89-94's there is a blower resistor under the dash, kinda up behind the glove box. 2 phillips screws hold it in and there is a plug that goes into it.

 

it turns off, and properly changes on all the 4 usable settings, except the lowest one, it doesnt turn on at all. i will look to see if there is one like that in my truck

Where is the blower resistor located? because i'm only seeing two wires off the motor, and it looks like they dive into the side of the truck

 

the contacts on the electric motor are probly dirty you can either pull it apart and clean them or put in a new motor

 

but the motor works perfectly fine

 

So in what vacinity am I trying to look from here??
