Alright guys...so I haven't done any research or measuring or any of that good stuff, but I love the taillights of the early 90's nissan hardbody. what would be involved in putting a hardbody bed on my 93 pickup? I'm just wondering if the measurements are at all close. I know the lines are completely different but that might be workable...
to be honest I thought about it but I wanted to know if a bed swap could be done because I've never seem it
in my opinion, you havent seen it done for good reason. the body lines and shape are not even close to being the same (toyota curved, hardbody flat). so trying to make the hardbody bed fit a toyota chassis and and then work the bed sides to some what fit and follow the lines of the toyota cab just seems like way more work then a relatively simple tail light swap.
i did a quick photochop of it. if the hardbody line was shaved it wouldn't look to bad from a side profile, but like robert said the contours of the sides are too different. also the sqaureness of the hardbody fender flare looks goofy with the round yota fronts.
It won't work mainly due to the bolt locations. The frame of the two vehicles mentioned is quite different.
Lol ok. I get it xD not gonna work It was more a whim but when I got home from work that day I saw the lines and pretty much decided against even thinking about it anymore.....and this point^ was the final straw. Not gonna happen.....thanks for saving my poor truck, guys!
yea and even then you would have to find the right hardbody bed since the regular cab and the king cab have different wheel locations the beds are too different the only one that might go and even so the frontier ones
its okay man. freshman year, two years ago, i tried to draw this concept. Nissan S15 Silvia front end on my truck... and SR20DET swap... I was crazy
