I've been the owner of my 1982 SR5 shortbed since Nov, 1981. I was a Jr in HS and I still remember picking it out from the fleet. It's full loaded minus the moon roof. After 30 years of service & approx 275,000, it is still a FUN truck to drive especially from all the "go-fast" goodies. I still get people looking at my truck as I drive around. Looks like a really cool message board & I look forward to contributing! Rick
Welcome to TM, Rick ... I bought my 1st Toyota p/u back in '81 just after graduating Malibu HS there in so. Cali. ... Great to have ya, man ... Got allot of good, knowledgeable people here ... Hope you enjoy it as much as i do ... ~Bill~

Welcome to TM. Nice to here you have kept a toy from start. Thats pure dedication to your toy. So what other plans do you have in mind for her? Also like he said...... POST UP SOME PICS.
Welcome to the site, looking forward to seeing some pics of your truck, what color is it, what are your plans? Mines tan, 82/83 is my favorite body style, very close to my heart my first truck was an 82, bought in 88 while in high school, foolishly traded it and regreated it ever since, I vowed to have another one someday and found a bone stock one in 08 one owner bought it and have been working on it ever since.
Thanks to Dgerfan55 & not forgotten for the additional warm welcome. My truck is pretty modified (from the engine to the interior), although it still has the "stock" appearance. The Doug Thorley header, Weber 32/36, LCE street cam, MSD 6A, Flowmaster, and advanced timing rounds out the motor. The interior sports brown Recaro seats with net head rests, 4-spoke Formula France steering wheel, TRD leather shift knob. Love the factory tilt wheel, power steering, A/C, and the cruise control. I'm rolling ARE 15X7 Vectors wrapped in BFG g-Sport tires (205-55/15) No more SR5 stripes, but it is dressed up in lots of chrome (4wd grille, front bumper, headlight doors, chrome trim in the windshield weather strip, rain gutters, mirrors, & a dual tip exhaust pipe. There's a dual tube Smittybilt rear bumper, but I still have my chrome step bumper that was a Toyota accessory. I'll try to get some photos up sometime over the weekend! Rick
