How to get my front end down more with out hitting cause they are already hitting after a torsion turn. It was really bad when i had the b/j flipped. Also has any one ever flipped there leafs in the back? Is is good or bad?
What are you hitting? The bump stops, fender, what? I know people used to flip the leafs back in the day.
Its hitting the fender. I know if i get lower profile tires would help and new shocks but i had to flip the b/js back to stock cause it was really bad, it would even rub when i pushed on the brakes. To answer your question TOYOTA530 i have 3in blocks in back and only the torsions turned in front.
so basically a 3'' block in the rear, drop spindles on front(2'') with Flip B/Js(1'') 2''+1''= 3??? Even out..? You probably need less wider rims and low pro tire to give some cleareance....
The factory wheels are only 6" wide as it is. Have you thought about running 4wd fenders? They're a little wider so it should fix the problem. The only thing you would have to do to run 'em is get the 4wd corner lights as well. I'm running factory 14x6 wheels (same size has yours) with 205/70 tires, 4wd fenders and a 2" drop in front with no issues.
roll your fender lips with a wooden baseball bat. it'll give you the clearance you need to go a little lower. and its paintless.
OK if your hitting the actual fender then either 4X4 fenders or rolling your fenders are your answers. If your hitting the inner fender then just bash the fck outta the metal to give u some clearance. Just make sure u unbolt everything from them first so u dnt fck anything up And no one really flips the leafs no more. Atleast it dnt seem like it. i say you try it out and see what happens
he mustve removed the bumpstops. with 26.1" tall tires, loosened torsions and removed bumpstops, you will hit the inner fenders no matter what.
or if u like the stream line look of the 2wd fenders and dont wanna roll ur fenders then i say narrow ur stock a arms....do the top 3/4inc and the bottom(LCA) 1inch..because u cut the bottom more then the top u will even out ur tire so you wont have terrible camber wear and ride quality improved. but if thats to tricky them you gotta go with the 4x4 fenders or rolling um...good luck bro
biggest thing, get smaller tires. tall tires dont have as much of a clean look when lowered. if they are new ones currently, sell them. i always do tires first, then roll fenders, hammer inners, then focus on suspension tweaks.
All good ideas so thanks everyone, So for the back i might try the flip, what the heck bring back the old school stuff. Does anyone have a thread on here on how to roll the fenders or pics? Where can i pick up some cheap but good quality shocks?
monroe is a good brand for a budget. there are betters, but ive liked them in the past. bilstiens are popular too. basically, take a baseball bat, start at the lower corner, and twist it along the tire so it wedges in between the fender and tire. go slowly. i like to start with the handle end if its really tight. do a bunch of passes, it will look cleaner. once that flange is mostly vertical, pinch it further with your hand. then keep going, sort of do a little twist, then lift on the bat a bit. worst case, they dont look great but function proper. and for the rears, guys did that to not spend any money. the spring trys arch away from the street, lifting the tires. its unsafe. run blocks or drop leafs.
