ok this will be the third one in the past 3 months my intake gasket leaks afte about 3 or 4 thousand miles which in turn losing coolant anyone know why its doing that and we put it on right and even used gasket maker on both sides to be sure
yea i think its just acting its age 300k motor ima swaping a built one in 2 weeks i just need it to last
What size are the nuts that go on the studs? i cant find any thing that will fit. where the pipe connects to the manifold..
I was having problems with this as well. In my case it was due to the bolt the goes into block directly under thermostat housing was snapped and never replaced. It would start leaking coolant because there was no pressure between intake and block at this point and the thermostat would heat the gasket causing it to leak. This is the most common bolt not replaced or forgotten about when doing an intake job or rebuild. If its there then maybe the block wall or intake wall is so warped your SOL
are you taking them to the right torque or just tightening them up snug so they don't come off? too tight will warp the flange and leak as much as too loose.
