I got gas today in my truck, the gauge read about 1/8 of a tank. I filled it up and it only took 10.5 gallons. What size tanks do these trucks have? I remember by '88 having a 16 gallon tank and my Tacoma was like 17? I can't see these old trucks only having 12 gallon tanks.... do they? That would suck for range.... even at 25mpg that's only 300 miles. That would be nuts. anybody know? I found a couple things on the web, and no one seems to agree... there's a Wikianswers post that has everything from 14-20 gallons!!!! LOL!!
Someone with an orignal owners manual should be able to tell us... I'm wanna know aswell, I'm putting my money on 12 gallons....
Couldn't find any posts with it, maybe I'm using the wrong search terms: gas tank fuel capacity capacity help? Sorry, I did do a search before I asked! Oh, and I have a shortbed. They have different tanks right?
Found one site: http://www.justgastanks.com/store/i...85_315&zenid=bcc034dc472562fd96a9b592f418a6e7 that says 13.5 gallons. That's all I've found. Really? Can that be right? Wow.
If you look on toyotarefernce.com under your year, there are two versions. The short/standard bed is a 13.5 gal tank. The long beds have a 16 gl tank. So, you should have the 13.5 i assume.
yea that's nuts... my old 240z had a bigger tank.... My Silverado has a 24 gallon tank... I'm just amazed it's not at least 16, the other Toyota pickups I've had had 16 gallon tanks... but the oldest one I had before this was an '88 so that might explain it.
my 07 titan has a 28 gallon tank I get about 240 miles and then I fill up with 24 gallons lol... I havent driven it in a while its been 3 weeks since Ive put a tank in it. been driven my moms civic, I love it its an 09 and got me no less then 30mpg in the mountains and no more then 38mpg on the highway on my road trip a few months ago
