I am curious if anyone has put a different gas tank on a 71 hilux. My tank is original and is only 10 gallons. This is something that I can live with but would like to have a bigger tank. If you have put a different tank on your hilux, what have you found to be a good fit? My other idea is to get a jerry can to mount in the truck bed, which I think would look sweet, but after some shopping around I found that they are pricey and most of them come only with plastic nozzles due to the new air restrictions on gas cans.

 

Your most likely needing to find a shop that makes custom gas tanks. I doubt you will find anything that will bolt right in. Check with a local radiator shop too, they may have an idea for you.
