funny sound from the rear

    I just replaced my 3rd member and now my rearend is making a humming sound while I'm driving please help.

    known good rearend? .. everything lined up correctly... bad ujoint in the driveshaft?

    could be a bad pinion bearing... usually a thats what a good humm will do... most bad u joints will either vibrate or squeak at crawl speed... but hey anything is possible.. i would check out the pinion..

    ya, if you change something, and then there's a noise, usually what you changed caused the noise. +1 on where'd you get the rear
