i rolled my 84 xcab pickup about a year ago and i am just now fixing her back up. when i got the engine (22R) running right i noticed the fuel pump was spraying fuel out of the weep valve. i assumed it was shot so i put a new pump on. the new pump had the same problem. i asked around and found out i was missing a spacer that goes in in place of the gasket, but when i put it in it seems to be leaking a little worse. any ideas on what the problem might be? i am at the extent of my knowlege.

By not having the spacer in there on the new pump is it possible you over extended the leverage and ruptured the diaphram in the new pump? just a thought.
