I had my bro-in-law replace an O2 sensor and fuel filter on my truck the other day. Holy freakin' donkey shins! He stood there shaking the old filter & I'm watching all this gunk come out of this thing as we're both saying it hasn't been changed in a while. It was the original filter! 167,000 miles on the original fuel filter! Wow, did it make a difference!

 

would be kind to tell me how to get mine out? lol

 

where is the fuel filter on the 22re?

 

I didn't do it myself, my bro-in-law did. But it is under the intake manifold. A small black cylinder.

 

It's a pain in the arse to get to. Taking out the starter first helped alot for me.

 

I changed the one on my truck at work...got to use the lift so it made it alittle more easier, but its still a pain in the ass!!

 

Remove the passenger wheel,makes it not so hard a task!

 

while your in there its pretty easy to relocate the filter to the fender well for easier access

 

so whats the big black canister on the left side of the engine nxt to the firewall

 

charcoal canister

it picks up gas vapors and returns them to fuel tank

 

oh, so i still gotta get into my hood to find the fuel filter...damn
