of I think I've got every thing to rebuild the front end on my 88 my question is this once I jack up the truck off the ground does that relax the torsion bars enough to knock the ball joints loose or do I need to have a jack under the lower A arms so it dosnt unload on me

also I'm going to drop this alittle but I cant remember what the formula is to figure out how much youve dropped it I want to say for every 1/4 inch you move the torsion bolt it drops it 2 inches
is that right or am I way off

keep a jack under the LCA. if you still have the shock attached it will prevent any further unload.... but i would still use the jack. shouldnt be much there but just to make sure to keep things safe i would use it. :waytogo:

as for the torsions........ it varies. on the 94 from Mac's truck it was nearly 1 inch for every inch of drop. it really all depends on how sacked out your torsions are...... worn out torsions will require less. not so worn out ones will require more.

my SAW torsions go up an inch per every 1/2 inch of threads
