I have a 88 and just got a pair of 4x4 fenders. I want to put a chrome bumper on. What year chrome bumper will I have to get and what valance will fit on the bumper. Do I have to get a 4x4 bumper and 4x4 valance cause I have 4x4 fenders. I want the whole bumper to be chrome and not the black pieces on the end like the 4runner has. Do I have to get the 4runner chrome bumper. If I have to get the bumper brackets, what year do I have to get to match with what bumper.

 

ud have to go with the 3rd gen 4wd bumper a 2wd is fun trying to get it to fit but it does fit. idk about the brackets tho

 

What bumper are you wanting to run?? If you got with the 84-88 bumper then
youll have to run the 4x4/4-runner bumper & valance. If you go with the facial swap & use the 89-95 bumpers then youll need to get brackets & the turn signal pigtails for the bumper lights to work. Here are some pics of your truck with different bumpers. Oh & Im not 100% sure, but I think youll have to get conversion brackets to run the 89-95 bumpers on your truck. since I have the 88 4x4 fenders will the 84-88 4x4 or 4runner bumper and valance just bolt right up. What grile will I have to get.

 

yeah it should bolt up i believe.

Grill, you can get any you want. so many different ones.

 

The bumpers will bolt right up, but I think the bumper brackets are different for the 2wd & 4wd/4-runner bumpers so check about that too.

 

the initial bumper will bolt up but the outter brackets for the end caps and outter valance bolts will not. you will need the outter brackets from a 4wd. the brackets will bolt up and will line up correctly after.

i have a 1987 with 4x4 fenders...I am going with a 2wd valance, a single piece 2wd bumper and a 2wd Chrome grille. I will post picks real soon.
