so iam new to the site and this is my first dropped truck...:D i hope you guys like it and tell me what you guys think i should do...This is my 92 extra cab...all stock...until i cranked torsions way down cut the front bumpstop brackets also remounted the shocks lower on the bottom A-arm so they wouldent bottom out...but i put a valve spring from a V-8 on the top of the shocks between the shock body (the bigger part of the shock)and the first washer that holds the bottom rubber bushing...it works like a coil over when its about 2 inchs from bottoming out...i also cut out a little bit of the inner fender because of my stock rims and tires would rub and they still do when turning...out in the rear i got 3 inch blocks pulled the middle leaf and flipped the bottom load spring...(it does make a diffrence to flip the load spring about an inch or two...)with all this being done the lowest point on the truck is 2 inches off the ground:D...maby some smaller tires...? heres the pici would love to here what you guys think...:)
this is with just uncranked torsions cut bumpstop brackets and shocks bottomed out...

this is with remounted shocks (mounted them about 2inchs down) and 3inch blocks in the back and pulled middle leaf and fliped load spring...

My 78 has 4-1/2" blocks and a yanked middle leaf. And very cut coils with alot of fender hammering/rolling. I love it. I just put shorter tires and I hit road turtles changing lanes in a few spots.

I say ditch the hub caps at the very least. But i totally love steelies. It looks real clean and basic though. I like it alot.

You guys would love my truck. I have about 3/4" rear compression travel til I hit. It needs a notch too. Find some old steelies from a ranger or old Toyota. Something simple. Maybe 80s dodge cop car steelies and caps. That'd be cool.

Welcome the site, truck is looking good & as for notches then yea wheels size does play part in that. If you planning to go bigger than 16's then I do a stepnotch & if not then a c-notch will work. Oh & if you want to be even lower then get some smaller tires on the those rims.

I would say make sure you have 2-3" of travel in the back for compression travel. If you are doing the notch, I'd suggest putting either plate or square tube on top the rail and run a flat plate against that around the notch. In steps, top, cut/notch, plate sides. It'll add more strength in a short side area. It's how I though about doing mine. Somebody here did it that way and it looks good. Either sd yota or smc. I forgot.
