extending wires

    i need to move and extend wires and i don;t know what is the best way in doing so

    in my opinion the best way to to solder and shrink wrap them. it's a good connection, and not as bulky as butt connectors.

    Go to the junkyard and get another harness so u have the same color wires and like burnz said, solder n use heatshrink

    thanx i have another harness already im just not sure where the best to run them would be. and for the maf sensor would i have to do anything different to move it so it clears the fan bc the truck is bodied dropt

    i had to extend a lot of wire for the rhd. i used 3 wiring harness and i solder and shrink wrap them. it came out great

    yea i agree i am an electrician and they sell shrink tubing at all your electrical suppliers

    heres my next thing i have to put the heater core and the dash back in. how do i put the heater core and blower in? in which order should i do that?

    You shouldnt have to cut and extend the maf sensor wires... If you just split the loom open you can pull the wiring back to easily reach the other side of the engine bay... Thats what i did. And yes, solder and heatshrink are the best ways to go. Seems overkill to get another harness and match exact wire colors. But I have a wire rack @ work with plenty of different color on it.:shrug: Good luck

    Also use the same gauge wire!And stagger your connections.:cool:

    Heater core first. Then the fan (might have clearance issues and have to redo the ducting).

    Keeps the diameter of the loom small & reduces chance of two connections making contact!:cool:
