OK, i have seen some ex can that have the raised floor in the ex cab portion and some that don't. Mine does. On theses, where do you guys ut for the bodydrop? only cut floor body drop i have done was on reg cab trucks. I am running into more stuff on this truck that makes me wish I had went with a mazda or nissan, but i'm up to the challenges. Please help me with some info though.
I seen a guy tht took out the rear seats an the little area below them then cut ou the floor an welded it to the sides once it was raised enough.
I would think to keep the floor level with its self... go along the entire outer edge with the knife... only other concern becomes the drive-shaft when you get lower I've seen some modifying a cross-member that should be the middle of the excab or so.
I thought that you cut mid way up on the back wall. If you were bd'ing 3 inches then you cut a 3 inch tall strip out of the back wall. As for that raised portion in the extra cab, I believe you can just remove it by drilling out the spot welds. I don't think it is really there for structural purposes. You would have to be the judge of that because I haven't looked at it well enough yet. I haven't done a bd yet on my extra cab cuz it's bagged on 20's and it will take some careful planning lol.
