OK, so I was crusin along today when my yota started acting up. :confused:As soon as I hit bout 70mph the truck started to misfire. I noticed it only happens around the same speed. It accelerates fine til I hit the high rpm's. I recently have changed spark plugs, wires, cap & rotor, 02 sensor....im thinking it might be my fuel filter or maybe bad/dirty injectors. I recently used Redline fuel system cleaner also...How hard is it to replace a fuel filter? Has this happend to anyone? Its really annoying!

Sounds alittle like what happened to me a few months ago...I had to chabge the fuel filter that was near the gas tank & the one thats on the passenger side of the block as well. If it was a bad injector then it would run like crap even at idle so Im thinking you ok there! Oh & on a side note...the fuel filter on the block is bitch to change lol!! :)

I'll throw a couple of areas to look at....changing the fuel filter wouldn't hurt if you haven't done so at all. There is a lot of trash these days in the fuel supply.

A few things you could check:
    • Check the fuel injector connections for shorts, could just be a dirty connection..nothing electronic cleaner can't fix.
    • Check the EGR system
    • Check Throttle Positioning Sensor
    • Have you checked your timing?
    • A dirty injector, as you stated?

I know you said you changed out quite a few things...never hurts to look over the things you recently changed to make sure there are no vacuum leaks...or wires grounding out.

Well looks like a got a few things to rule out. I'm definately gonna replace the fuel filters beacause I dont think the original owner ever did. It's just frustrating because my 22re is newly rebuilt! I really appreciate all of your replies. Ill let you know how it goes. Thanks again :waytogo:

What about your fuel pressure regulator?? They can give similar issues when they start to act up. Just a thought. Id go there next if the fuel filter doesn't solve it.
