New to this sorry. Was wondering how hard it would be and what all would go into swapping automatic for manual in an 88 Toyota pickup

I would think the only thing that might be a challenge is the clutch pedal. More then likely the mounting position is all reinforced already but needs mounting holes.

Any thoughts on how I’d go about making those?

I would look into junkyards around you area for a manual truck. Or find a friend with the same truck that's manual and get your eyes on it. Look for the differences under the dash where the pedal will attach and on the firewall where the master will go.

I know a guy that manual swapped his legacy to manual when he got it. Never really worked on a car before hand. Got it done. But the one thing he did wrong was he tied his reverse lights to a switch. The day he got his license he went for a ride a got pulled over in a few minutes of driving. He forgot to turn off the reverse lights.
