Well, I just bought this truck. It's a 1988 little black truck, carburated 22R, everything basic, no options 5 speed. For $1200 I ignored the fact that the backup lights came on when you turned on your lights, and the opposite; the corner markers and interior lights would come on when you engaged reverse. I thought it was just a wire swap and on we go. Nope. It turns out a previous owner had tried to install a trailer light hitch and messed up all the electrics in the truck. I had to disassemble all the interior of the truck, take the electrical tape off ALL the wiring to look what was going on. The wiring was burned and melted in several spots throughout the truck so I had the nice task of chasing melted spots and replacing them. There went the weekend. I'm happy to report that all damage was repaired, and although the truck right now looks like I just got it from a Pick and Pull, It will be electrically sound. To me, the moral of the story is "never underestimate the size of a project". Pictures coming up.

Lol... I actually bag and mark my screws when I do something like this. I did end with some extra plastic tubing and the like little odd parts, but I put new covers and fire retardant all over anyways... Electrical gremlins are almost gone now...
