For the guys who have converted their stock clutch fan to an electric cooling fan.
Is it normal for the temperature to stay at the halfway mark on the stock temp gauge?

I heard the 3.0L has a overheating problem. And I have been driving one lately so I have kept an eye on the stock gauge. And yea, it stays at just under half.

Ran a 16" puller fan and the temp stayed between 1/4 n half in the summer time. Didn't turn it on much during the winter. NO thermostat used.

Didn't notice any performance gains with the electric fan, so I put the stock clutch fan back on...

    Hope this helps chelu! :waytogo:

I don't have a real temperature gauge either but my stock gauge usually only barely reaches the 1/4 mark during normal driving. Didn't really have any cooling problems with the stock fan, but one of the main reasons I went with the electric fan was that I really hated the belt squeal from 5000 rpm up.

    1. stock toyota temp gauges are horribly inaccurate in my experience. my cressida read within 1mm of the middle from less than 130f to over 230f. run a real gauge plumbed before the thermostat for any sort of reliable readings.

    2. every efan setup is going to run different depending on both size and cfm of the fan, if a thermostat is used, what the thermostats set for, where the sensor is, if it's not used where the user turns the fan on, etc.
