Do any of the headers fit the early ones or are they just for the later more common one.

Mine has round exhaust ports (instead of pear shaped) and has 7 studs to mount the exhaust manifold (instead of 8)

Mine has a crack in it and I really want to fix it as I have the stock muffle so all I hear is *pstpstpst* etc while driving

I'm not sure of the early ones, but on my late 22re you can put the 20 and 22 headers on there, you have to move a stud to accommodate the 20r though, and its 4 to1 instead of 4 to 2 to 1.

Do you move the two center studs to a single center stud? As far as I can tell that's the only difference.

Browsing some installed pics it appears that the flange has extra holes most don't use so perhaps that's how it fits them all.

Also I've seen 4wd only headers. Will this fit 2wd? Or do I need a 2wd specific header?

I have found that a pacesetter header for a late 22r will fit a early 22r and 20r. I was curious and had a 20r gasket so I put it against the header I bought

Awesome! Thank you first80! I will look into it then.

So any thought on why some are labelled "4WD only" is it based on the shape in the mid pipe that some headers come with? Also I saw some said 95+ is there a change in O2 mount? I'm mostly in it for the header and can make the rest as even though I have no experience I recently gained access to an exhaust pipe bender.

Actually I now see the pacesetter for the 84-88 gen so I will just go for that and stop asking stupid questions. Thanks all!
