So I said on the intro page earlier that I would have a bunch of dumb questions, so true to my word I have my first one. The truck is a pretty standard '91 DLX, 4WD extended cab. Now, I don't need anything massive, and I'm not planning on lifting the truck (or if I do eventually, no more than maybe an inch). But I'd like to find larger tires, both in height and width. Ideally, I'd like them to stick out a bit past the body, and come as close to filling the wheel well without impeding actual driving. When I read up the stuff about spacing and such on these other threads I've been realizing that I don't know the first thing about all this. So can someone help me figure this out and where to start? Thanks!
If it was me, I would do some 31x10.50s and call it good. Shouldn't have to regear for those. People on yotatech say that 33x10.50s will fit with no lift but you have to pound the pinch weld flat and regearing is a must with them.
Awesome! I really appreciate the heads up. I think getting the new wheels and tires will probably be the first non-mechanical thing I get done. Well, maybe the second thing. I really need to get a new paint job on it too; some spots are great, but the roof and a number of other spots are pretty rough.
Had 35 12.50s on mine but didnt swap gears..i would have if i had kept it. Never really used 5th unless going down hill or on a VERY flat surface lol. But yes 33s will fit but its gonna take up all your wheel well with no lift.im with robert...31s is a good size with no lift.
