Drop spindles?

    I wanted to get drop spindles for my 83 toyota pickup 2wd nd i wanted to know if the drop spindles from a 84 toyota pickup will fit right in?

    no they won't.

    the 79-83 spindles have both ball joint studs pointing to the ground, while the 84+ have one pointing up and one pointed down. you can fit them by modifying the lower control arms.

    there is only 84+ drop spindles. if you want them you'll have to modify the lower balljoints. i've read of people using the 84+ upper and lower control arms so the spindles bolt right up but if i remember right it widens the track width like 1/2" per side. might be an issue if you're really low.

    82 short /97 Tacoma
    X2.... Im swapping all the suspension to 84+ on my 82 and eventually getting drop spindles. But for now i can at least do a ball joint flip and get some djm lower arms to strengthen my drop.

    It takes every last piece besides steering components to do the swap.

    And remember to use all the parts from the same truck. Some parts did change around 88-89 and isnt compatible earlier to later. :waytogo:

    So the lower, upper control arm and the spindle from a 84 yota will fit on a 80 cuz I want to lower the front but I'm having trouble finding parts for it all I get is 84+
