Are you gonna swap gears? I ask because IIRC rx-7's came with 4.30's and that's LOW!!

is this a pretty direct swap? Obviously there's gonna be some fabrication involved. By "pretty direct" I mean, the axle width is close to stock, the bolt pattern is the same, that kinda stuff.

It weird cause I've been looking pretty intensely at doing IRS for a week or two, and found that Jag Xj's from 1961+ are pretty close, except the bolt pattern for the wheels. Then I thought about 03-04 cobra IRS cause it's got the same bolt pattern, it's only 3 inches too wide, it comes in a handy cradle with only 4 mount points, and you can find one pretty easy because some of them get SAS for drag racing purposes.

I hadn't even thought about an rx-7. that's damn near genius!

Rx7 is 1inch to wide if you get the turbo it's same lug pattern and only 4 mounting points. I believe the year is from 86-91.

My advice is measure it once the IRS diff is in place, you can't rely on factory measurements for a custom install. Diff may end up set slightly different or the housing may have a shorter or longer nose.
