If it's through plastic or metal, yes. If its through the glass, probably not.

A small light bulb (194 size) that comes on with your parking lights to slightly light up the headlight housing.

Well then since the backside of a 4runner headlight is plastic, why not drill it there?

I'd just drill it buy a rubber 194 socket lead so it will fit snug and not leak ..

City lights are from Japan Origins . They got the name city because the city's in Japan are so lite up at night that headlights are not required or needed . And heard that it was mandatory no headlight rule while n the city ..go figure . Sounds kinda sketchy

I had 95 civic with Japanese head lights plastic
And they came stock with them as we're the us civic did not and were glass

89 Regular Cab. The weirdo with the stock suspension.
If the housing is glass, there is a glass and tile bit that is sold at hardware stores that might... MIGHT drill it. I used to drill holes in liquor bottles to make... Ahem... Tobacco pipes.
However, I should point out that for every one I successfully drilled, there were at least a couple that would shatter on me while drilling. If you choose to go this route, it may be good to have spares in case they break.

You know what? On my '82 I had I bought some of the H4 upgrade lights where ya can change out just the bulb in the back, and they came with that 194 in there. Pigtail and all. I wondered what that was for. Never even wired it up. Hmmm.

I use city light sockets for colored LEDs. Looks cool at night having orange or purple headlight housings. Also works well with an amber bulb on the marker light circuit.

get a 194/168 socket and get an LED in there. It's plastic so take your time doing so, in that way you don't have to cuss trying to get plastic shavings out.
