where can i can some cheap toyota door poppers, love the look, also what happens when your battery dies, how you open the door?
There are alot of companies that sale kits, look in minitruckin and you'll fine alot. I got mine off suicidedoors.com, but sold the s10 before i put it on, so its waiting for another truck, lol. But as for when the battery dies, rig up a manual release that's hidden. I shaved my buddies honda before he had poppers, so i did a cable realease. i got some metal cable and crimps at lowes for cheap, crimped one side to the pull the mechanism just like the door handle, and ran the other side through the front of the door to the inside on the fender and hid it under the plastic lining. I'd double crimp both ends just to be safe, and make sure to put something on the pull end bigger than the hole it goes through so it doesn't fall back in
Here are a few useful sites for door poppers... http://www.suicidedoors.com or http://www.illusivefabrications.com or http://gravity-werx.com
i thought you were talking about the actual poppers that push the door open..but looks like your talking about the soleniods..My first kit was a mr gasket company 15lb..then i jumped up to autoloc's 35lb..i just had one die on me and im a little upset about it..didnt even get 2 years out of it...spal is also a good brand I have been locked out numerous times with no manual cable set up..I usually have to remove the rear window
the more time u take to measure and aling the poppers the better. try to make everything simple, less **** to get in a bind and break the better.
a choke cable also works nicely for the mechanical way back into the door. or if you are talking about a toyota that has the lock cylinder seperate of the handle, splice the handle linkage to the lock one. i did it on my dodge and it opens up fine with the twist of the key. ill probably leave that and run the choke cable to the firewall. that truck has the hood latch in the grille not under the dash. i have no plans for poppers or solenoids.
