I believe both front and rear window gaskets can still be obtained, new.

I think.

Can anyone confirm whether or not both windows and door weather stripping can still be purchased new?

Hi. The door seals are still available, as I bought a pair of door seals off eBay last year for my 74 HiLux. The seller was an actual auto parts dealer, not an individual, so he's probably got more listed. I think I paid around $40 for the pair. I've also seen the windshield gasket (without the groove for the chrome trim) on eBay from another retail parts dealer, around $40. Not sure about rear window (just because I haven't looked for it yet).

 

Well 1974 was awhile ago but they still carry most everything. These things were sold world-wide for a long time so stuff is still available.

For example last week I bought the door seal, ext. x-tra cab bed light, hood nozzles, clips for the door panel and a buncha other misc. clips and all were at the dealer withing a few days. I would think the seals you need are on the shelf some where.

Yesterday I ordered the windshield gasket ($36) and the back window gasket ($34) off eBay, with $10 combined shipping.

 

do you have a link to the supplier? i need front, rear and door weatherstripping. the only place i have found yet is rockauto ant they want $71 for the pair.

 

the door gaskets, and window guide felts are interchangeable...




so stuff for a 85 door works in a door from 72





they all attach the same way.



not sure if the stuff newer then 85ish works as well, never tried it.

weatherstrip and window chanel

i have a 1976 hilux and i got weatherstrip for both doors for 15.00 at j,c,whitney and my window chanel thats the same as factory !! they also have carpet to fit them

 

Negatory sir... got the seals in and I have no idea how they would attach.

 

maybe it's the wrong seal? the hilux is the same body from 1969-1972.

 

Perhaps, I haven't called the people, i'm kinda lazy....

I just don't want to tear mine up any more than I have taking it off to confirm that its wrong....

DOes it require an adhesive..?

 

all my yotas from 73 to 88 use the same style. the portion around the door has little plastic clip things that pop into the door, and around the window frame they fit into a u shaped channel.
