Ive seen a couple of people on here that does the whole drift racing but does anyone drag race their truck?? If so post some picture of your truck and setup.
I sand Drag my 4x4 once in a while. I run Nitrous. You can see my truck on the YOTATECH web site under suncom1 "MY TOY photo album.
Suncomb1?? If that's the right one then your truck is amazing man, did you make that hood?? What's that peace sticking up right behind the filler neck??
Like I said once in a while so nothing hard core but here's a couple pics of the truck and motor.Pic of the motor is kinda old so I have changed a few thing but same set up.I have a cherry daily now so I plan on stepping up my drag game slowly.I got me a six puck clutch that I need to slap in along with a 5 speed trans to upgrade from the 4 speed.I also found a locked up 456 rear so I need to do that too.And I need to find a set of slicks.can we see some pics of yours?
It is the original hood that I had Louvered back in the 80's to remove the heat from the engine compartment. I raced the truck off-road for about 4 years then I tore it down and built it the way you see it now. I ran a TRD built / prepared 18RG with twin Mikunis when I raced. The piece on the valve cover is a breather. The motor in the truck now is a LC Engineering Stage 5 Pro Stroker 22R with twin modified Webers and running a 125 Shot Nitrous system. The Nitrous can be programmed for stage or all in. The motor is dialed in at 285HP but could be adjusted to about 325HP. The motor is built to "Live" and it has been reliable so far.
Ok now I'm out of my league.Chelu are you back on Guam now?Is that the truck you were selling a while back?
I go to some car shows, cruise nights, truck jamborees, Veteran benefits, etc. I have a 32 Ford street rod and a 1950 Merc full custom. I really like my truck, I am the original owner and most of the young guys at events can not believe an "Old Fart" still likes to "Get It On!"
I have as well! Just search 892jz in youtube and you will see my videos. Nothing special just my street setup and running 12psi.
Haven't been to the track since I got back from Afghanistan. Soon though. Just turned up the boost today to 20 psi with the new intake manifold. So we'll be hitting the dyno soon and then the track to put down some good times hopefully!
I also have a ls4.8. With ls1 head, ls1 intake, and ls6, these motor are a boost loving motors. From what I've read and heard its a tight fit in these first gens.
