yaaa it could be a little more thorough..someone could add on how to crank tortions to... although it may seem obvious to a lot of us... many of us dont know where it is or everything there is to know about it...

haha i know it took me a while to find the tortion bolt...

i thought everyone new this already? guess not...LOL everytime i do a drop i use 3" blocks and remove the middle spring. However there is another option on doing it without removing the spring. by using leaf sring clamps you clamp all springs together.

I'm just wondering what other options there are for dropping the rear. I just bought my truck a few months ago and that is what has been done. While I love the drop and the ride isn't too bad, the truck loses some of it's usability as I'm not able to put much weight in it. It has air shocks in the back which help but it's not perfect. My biggest worry is that I just got a hitch for it to tow my pop-up camper and I'm thinking the rear won't support the weight and will bottom out all the time. Is there some other way I can have my drop in the back and not have the rear so soft?

You must be talking about clamping the leafs to the overload leaf, correct?

Why not just french the spring hangers and shackle hanger?

Here is what I do on my shackle hangers:

Mount the shackle through the frame lowers it about 1.75"

If you don't want to make them, you can buy the shackle mounts and bushings from Trail-Gear.com

Once you have those, you just weld them to the inside of your frame upside down.

An easier approch would be to box your frame and use DOM tubing and run that through your frame and plate it on both sides, then you will have to use spacers to keep your shackles straight.

Did the middle leaf this weekend, the drop was perfect.
However, the rear brake is engaging slightly without me pressing on the brake. I have already let loose the hand-brake brackets all the way back, but still...
